Art Collection

 

The art collection of the Gallery department covers the period from the late 18th century (a portrait of Joseph II by an unknown author) till the modern era, but most of the works there were made by Croatian artists of the 19th and 20th century. The collection includes the works of Franjo Giffinger, Tomislav Krizman, Sonja Tajčević-Kovačić, Rudolf Švagel - Lešić, Vanja Radauš, Ivan Picelj, Albert Kinert, Albina Jakić, Božo Kopić, Ivan Herman, Josip Oros and others.
Thanks to the art colonies Čardak (the watch-tower) 94 and Čardak (the watch-tower) 96, the Museum acquired several works of academically trained artists, fine art photographers and amateur artists (Ivan Križanac, Slavko and Marko Živković, Branko Skender, Karlo Haramija, Stjepan Jozić, Siniša Simon, Dejan Duraković, Marija Braut, Zvonimir Tanocki, Branko Bazina, Duško Begović, Mata Abramović, Đuro Adžić, Petar Avramović, Pero Beuk, Franjo Golić, Ivan Hodak, Vladimir Voćanec, Amalija Broecker-Jakob, Milan Cimeša, Ratko Žaja, Luka Blažanović, Nenad Papić, Miroslav Benaković).
Apart from the works mentioned above, the Gallery collection of the Stjepan Gruber – Local History Museum in Županja contains various works of amateur artists and folk artists (Josip Babogredac, Ana Verić, Marica Žigmundovac, Zlatko Kokanović).
